About
Birth of Brilliance (BoB) is a social enterprise with the mission to transform lives of expectant families and childbirth practitioners through education.
Birth of Brilliance (BoB) Childbirth and Parenting programme is an evidence-based programme for expectant parents that combines education on emotional intelligence and relaxation practices with childbirth and parenting education. It is designed to prepare expectant parents for a transformative experience of pregnancy, childbirth, and parenthood.
BoB team have previously designed and delivered childbirth preparation classes to over 4000 families within NHS, with overwhelmingly positive results. The current programme has been developed based on the feedback collected from thousands of families and hundreds of birth practitioners on the influence of such education.
Research evidence suggests participation in the education is associated with improved mental wellbeing, sense of confidence, ability to cope with labour, and positive childbirth experiences, whilst reducing fear and anxiety. Such a positive mental state in parents enables them to give their child the best possible start in life in a loving and stable family, something that every child deserves!
I left the class feeling quite empowered, quite excited for my birth, I wanted to labour, to birth my child, strange thing to say’. (Louise – second pregnancy)
‘I think I’d been quite apprehensive and trying not to think about it (giving birth), but after the class I was feeling a lot more settled about it… (after birth) I found the impact on her (the baby) to be really interesting, it is noticeable. (Neave – First pregnancy)
‘I was sceptical until I understood the theory behind it, something clicked, it was a switch in the mindset’. (James – partner)
